|The following control settings were used:
Local downstream control (distributed control).
Proportional Integral control with a prefilter to attenuate the resonance waves.
Sample time of 1 minute.
Minimum gate movement of 3 mm.
Maximum gate movement of 120 mm/min.
Fixed setpoints are given as red blocks.
The initial condition is zero flow and constant depth over the whole canal.
The offtake flow is constant and located at the end of the last reach.
The system reaches it setpoints in only three hours, which is very fast
given the extreme initial deviation from the final steady state.
